TallShip Adventure

The Tall Ship Adventure

The Pride o’ Hampton’s Waterfront!

Arrr, she be the Adventure, a stout and seaworthy replica o’ the merchant ships what roamed the seas back in the 1700s. She’s no landlubber’s decoration — she sails as the official ship of Blackbeard’s Crew, and the only character vessel still callin’ Hampton, Virginia home.

But mark this well — a ship don’t run on dreams alone. It takes deckhands, riggers, and a fair bit o’ gold to keep her timbers tight and her sails flyin’ free.

We’re seekin’ volunteers with spirit, donors with heart, and scallywags brave enough to lend a hand. Whether ye be young or gray o’ beard, there’s a place aboard the Adventure for all who love the sea and the tales it tells.

Hoist yer colors. Raise a glass. Help us keep Adventure alive.

Adventure once was a Character in a Hollywood Movie “Searching for Ameilia Arhardt”

The Tall Ship Adventure

Hampton, Virginia’s Own Colonial Sailing Vessel

The Adventure is a historically inspired replica of an 18th-century colonial merchant ship — the type that would have plied the coastal and transatlantic trade routes of early America. She serves as the official sailing vessel of Blackbeard’s Crew, and stands proudly as Hampton, Virginia’s only operating character vessel.

As a floating ambassador of maritime history, Adventure is both a stage for historical reenactments and a platform for education, outreach, and community engagement.

But maintaining a tall ship takes more than passion — it takes people. We need volunteers to crew and maintain her, and donors to help ensure she remains seaworthy and active in our community.
